My Story
I've always been fascinated by movement, and the intricate connection between physical and mental wellbeing. When I was 14 years old, I fell in love with cross-country running. This passion led me to compete in running races, duathlon and triathlon. Although conventional yoga wasn't part of my routine during this time, endurance training seemed like a meditative practice to me.

I must have taken my first yoga class around the age of 17. In all honesty, I was underwhelmed and it certainly wasn't love at first sight! Nonetheless, I remained consistent and continued to practise at home. With time, my interest in yoga blossomed.

Yoga became my anchor during times of upheaval and change- University, the pandemic, major life events. I continually turned to it to cultivate awareness and better understanding of myself, my body and mind.

One such time was after graduation. I set off on what was intended to be a short trip to Madrid to practise my Spanish. Little did I know that this would become a life-changing adventure of over 2 years spent abroad!

I travelled across the Balkans, Mexico, South America and parts of Asia. While the climates, people, language and just about everything else around me changed, one thing remained constant- my yoga practice. It was something of immeasurable value that I could take with me wherever I went.
Though the journey wasn't always glamorous- picture yoga sessions in shared dorms, on airport floors and in gritty bus shelters- it was yoga nonetheless.

I spent 7 months in India, and during that time received my training to become a certified yoga teacher. The experience was incredible, and something that I'll never forget. The school was very small, and there were only four other students. Aside from the various classes in asana, pranayama, yoga philosophy etc it was a personal journey and time of immense self-discovery and growth. After completing the course my love of yoga was stronger than ever.
I continued travelling and, in Southern India, had the wonderful opportunity to teach traditional Hatha yoga classes. In Buenos Aires, Argentina I led group classes for both foreigners and locals around the bustling city's various parks.
At the end of last year I returned to England, a different person to who I was when I left.

Yoga continues to transform my relationship with, and awareness of, my body, mind and soul. It really isn't about having the deepest backbend or the most flexible hips. It brings so much more than that- patience, acceptance, surrender, inner peace.

I remain a lifelong student, and I find immense joy in sharing this practice with kindred spirits.
